I’m a big fan of drummer Brian Blade’s work with The Fellowship Band (Season Of Changes was one of my favourite records of 2008).

Blade has a new album Mama Rosa out April 21 on Verve, his debut as both a solo artist and singer. The preview tracks embrace a more soulful, acoustic-driven sound than his previous work. What hasn’t changed, however, is the quality of songwriting - brianblade.com
