In-Formed: Where Statistics Seep Into Product Design

In-Formed

The work of Nadeem Haidary, In-Formed is a project which involved fusing contextual information into product design, providing people with a greater awareness of their usage behavior. Products included a faucet which shows much water a person has used, and the rubbish bin which shifts it’s angle (making it harder to use) as excessive waste is thrown in (via information aesthetics).

Dark Night Of The Soul Full Album Stream / Details

New details have emerged on the Danger Mouse / Sparklehorse helmed multimedia project Dark Night Of The Soul. The album (due for release this summer) features the aforementioned curators alongside the Flaming Lips, Iggy Pop, Frank Black, and the Strokes’ Julian Casablancas. It will be accompanied by a book featuring over 100 photos from David Lynch, who is also behind this brief, cryptic teaser video.

The full album is now streaming over at the Chrysalis Music blog. The project also includes an art installation at L.A.’s Michael Kohn Gallery, which will run from May 30 - July 11 (via Pitchfork).
