“The latest addition to the CONTEXT Exclusives lineup, the Kicking Mule Workshop Hand Dye 1980 is a true enthusiast’s jean. This 13.7 oz. white line selvage is dyed using the Japanese hand hank dyeing method known as AWA. The warp yarn is dyed using two different shades of indigo. These yarns are arranged randomly in the weave to create a fabric with great depth of color, texture and fade qualities”. Limited to 50 pairs, the Hand Dye 1980 jeans (US$495) are available now.
Limited to 47 pairs, this collaboration between Paul Smith Red Ear and Blue in Green Soho was taken on by an 80 year old craftsman in Japan. Made from 13oz selvage denim, with single needle orange stitching, concealed back pocket rivets and alternating button fly tack buttons, the super slim jeans (US$325) are available from Blue In Green.
“A very special denim which was created especially for the 10th anniversary of the Badou-R flagship store in Tokyo. Only 17 pieces were made and each piece is individually numbered on the back leather patch. Each pair is hand distressed by Spotted Horse Craft and every pocket bag is unique with 45rpm recycled textiles. Also, the rivets are coated with Japanese lacquer. The fit is similar to Sorahiko 08 O/W with a slightly higher rise” - available now (US$775) from their online store.
