While some designers really need to learn their seasons and stop droppin’ heavy jackets during spring / summer, I’m gonna let this one slide (as I’m a sucker for technical outerwear). The detachable sleeves are a huge plus on this denim-overdyed jacket (US$540) from NYC label Harmon - available now at Blackbird.
With a Google-proof name, this is a difficult brand to track down. Here’s what I do know - Made in the USA for (seemingly only) the Japan market, Briefing produce a complete line of bags ranging from messengers to totes to travel luggage. The entire collection bears a strong, urban-military look, available in moss, khaki and black. The detailing looks good, and with pricepoints on the high side, I’d expect these are built to last - Neo Force (39,900円), Dune Shoulder (30,450円) and Dual Duffle (39,900円) available from Tokyo Life.
Harcsa Hi Cut Trainer (￥15,750)
From Hungarian brand Harcsa - known for the high durablility and comfort of their military training footwear, but they also work just as well as everyday summer kicks. Clean lines, solid construction, and a nice, subtle distressing effect from the traditional tea-dying process used on the sneaker. Also available in lo version and other colors (purple, white).
